Pierre Jeanneret , the Swiss architect born in 1896 and died in 1967, is known for his close collaboration with Le Corbusier. Together, they undertook the ambitious project of building Chandigarh in India in 1950. Pierre Jeanneret became the sole chief architect of the project after Le Corbusier’s departure, devoting 15 years to the realization of this modern city located at the foot of the Himalayas. Today, Chandigarh is a reference in architecture, offering an ideal residence thanks to its contemporary layout, rationality and quality of life. Pierre Jeanneret ‘s wooden furniture , long neglected, is now experiencing a revival in the art market, thus honoring the genius of this architect and the “Le Corbusier” design office, while being a current trend in designer furniture and functional interior architecture.
